The Weather of Acceptance

For a long time, the internal narrative was driven by a quiet but persistent belief: that there was always something about myself that needed to be changed. It is a heavy burden to constantly act as the architect of your own repair. Recently, however, I have realised that the true challenge isn't in changing the landscape of who we are but simply accepting it.

On the easel, this realisation has been taking physical form. The soft, shifting structures of clouds serve as a mirror to our own stream of consciousness, sometimes light and ethereal, other times dense and heavy with the storm. Trying to force these organic, internal shifts into rigid perfection only creates more tension.

The dark, architectural voids in my work represent the hypnotic, consuming pull of the noise around us. But standing in front of that void doesn't require us to alter ourselves to survive it. It only requires us to observe it, accept our own nature, and find stillness in the contrast. Solace isn't found by fixing the mind; it is found by accepting the way we are. - Mickee
